Dr. Good obtained a Ph.D. in Genetics from the
University of Ottawa in 1986 and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the
Plant Biotsechnology Institute/National Research Council labs in Saskatoon until
1989 when he accepted a faculty position in the Department of Genetics at the
University of Alberta. His main research interests are in the genetics of crop
improvement, specifically within the Brassica and safflower, and the molecular
biology of stress tolerance and nutrient use efficiency in crop plants.
Presentation Outline: The presentation will focus on providing
guidance to large and small biotechnology initiatives, both private
companies and publicly funded organizations, on the effective use of
genomics technologies and strategies. We will use, as an example, SemBioSys
Genetics product pipeline and outline the different genomics technologies
that we are developing to improve the efficiency of SemBioSys Genetics
product development pipeline. Second, the presentation will discuss methods
for evaluating the efficiency and value of specific genomics technologies as
they relate to product development and production. | |
