The goal of the Food Valley organization is to stimulate the power of
innovation in the Dutch agrifood cluster by bringing together market-driven
entrepreneurship and knowledge. The ultimate goal is to strengthen the
competitive position of Dutch businesses by making optimal use of the
currently available high-quality knowledge infrastructure. There are many
stakeholders that are involved in the interplay between the business
community, knowledge workers and government parties. Food Valley plays an
important role in this interaction.
The Food Valley organization has its headquarters in the city of Wageningen
which is in the center of a region with an enormous potential of food
knowledge. From here the Food Valley organization facilitates the
actualization of high-quality, innovative ideas coupled with the appropriate
available offering of services. Here are a few examples:
The Food Valley
Innovation Link gives SME-business owners the help
necessary to successfully
launch innovative projects by linking them with
relevant knowledge-network
parties
Through theme
clusters Food Valley is also involved with project
development. Food Valley
solicits and develops project ideas,
approaches potential project partners,
and researches subsidy
possibilities.
The Food Valley
organization helps companies become established in
the Food Valley region.
A growing number
of companies are investing in the Food Valley
Society, an initiative of the
Food Valley organization. The Society plays an
important role in the content
and direction of the activities of the
organization by providing input as to
current, content-driven issues. One
of the methods used is the organizing of
networking and theme
gatherings for and by the members of the Society. There
are currently
over 70 companies that are associated with the Food Valley
Society.
